cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, allowing a white filling to be bonded
in place. In the right circumstances it is quick, painless and conserves tooth

Air abrasion allows Dr. Latner to spray decay away from your mouth in a process which would normally require more invasive action such as drilling. Furthermore, becuase no drilling is involved, air abrasion is less painful than other methods of restoring a decayed tooth, reduces the need for anesthesia and leaves more healthy tooth tissue intact.
Air abrasion is perfectly safe, eye and mouth protectors are required for the process to prevent irritation, and a protective resin is applied to the nearby teeth and gums to protect areas of the mouth not being treated.
